Donuts is a highly iconic brand in Spain, originally launched in the early 1960s by businessman Andreu Costafreda. The brand became famous for its unique recipe of fried dough rings and has since become a staple of Spanish snacking culture. The Berlina Fondant variety shown here is a filled version of the dough, topped with a dark chocolate coating.
The manufacturing of these products primarily takes place in various production facilities across Spain. Over the decades, the brand's ownership has evolved through several mergers. Today, Donuts is a flagship brand of the Bimbo Group (Grupo Bimbo), following the acquisition of Panrico. The brand continues to be a market leader in the Spanish pastry segment, managed under the Iberia division of its global parent company.
