Klädesholmen is a historic Swedish brand deeply rooted in the fishing traditions of the island of Klädesholmen on Sweden's west coast. This particular product is a smoked fish roe spread, known in Scandinavia as 'kaviar', typically enjoyed on flatbread, rye, or boiled eggs. The brand prides itself on centuries of artisanal knowledge, dating back to at least 1594, though the modern company was formalized through the merger of several local family businesses.

The product is manufactured primarily in Rönnäng, Sweden, close to its island namesake to ensure quality and freshness of the raw materials. Since 2002, Klädesholmen Seafood AB has operated as a unified entity, managing the production of herring and caviar. It is currently owned by the conglomerate Västkustfilé, further solidifying its presence as a key player in the Swedish seafood market while maintaining its signature traditional recipes.
