Originally starting as a flaxseed mill and crop warehouse, it evolved into a specialist in high-quality pulses. The brand is deeply rooted in the agricultural traditions of Castile and León, particularly the León region where pulses are a cultural staple.

Today, Luengo is a market leader in Spain, known for its wide variety of dried and cooked legumes, including lentils, chickpeas, and beans. The company operates modern production and logistics centers in Riego de la Vega and Onzonilla, León, where they handle the selection, processing, and packaging of their products. This ensures that the traditional quality is met with modern safety and efficiency standards.

The brand remains a family-owned enterprise, currently managed by the fourth generation of the Luengo family. Under the leadership of Gaspar Luengo Asensio and his successor Pedro Luengo, the company has expanded significantly, acquiring other historical brands like Vegas Bañezanas and Alimentos Naturales (including El Hostal) to solidify its dominant position in the Spanish and international healthy food markets.
