Aero is an iconic aerated chocolate brand beloved for its unique 'bubbles' texture. Originally launched in 1935 by the British confectionery company Rowntree's, the product was designed to provide a lighter eating experience by integrating air bubbles into the chocolate. The product proved highly successful and became a staple of the British candy market before expanding globally.
In 1988, the Swiss multinational Nestlé acquired Rowntree's, bringing Aero under its vast portfolio of confectionery brands. Today, Aero is manufactured in several locations worldwide to meet local demand; the primary manufacturing hub remains the Nestlé factory in York, England, where the brand began, but it is also produced in Canada, Australia, and South Africa. Nestlé continues to oversee the brand's global strategy and product innovation, expanding the line into various flavors and formats such as Aero Melts and Aero Mousse.
