Mentos is a globally recognized brand of mints and chewing gum, known for its distinctive 'disc' shaped candies and later its successful line of sugar-free gum. The brand’s journey began in the Netherlands during the early 20th century, where it evolved from a simple mint candy into a variety of flavors and formats including the popular gum plastic bottles.

Today, the brand is part of the massive Perfetti Van Melle portfolio, a privately owned Italian-Dutch multinational company. Perfetti Van Melle was formed in 2001 after the merger of the Italian Perfetti group and the Dutch Van Melle company. Mentos products are manufactured in various facilities worldwide, including major plants in the Netherlands, Italy, Turkey, and China, to support its distribution in over 150 countries.

The packaging seen here, featuring the circular barcode on a yellow cap, is a standard design used for their gum bottles in European markets. The ultimate owner, Perfetti Van Melle, is one of the world's largest confectionery manufacturers, also owning other household names like Chupa Chups and Airheads.
