Lee is an iconic American brand of denim jeans, first produced in 1889 in Salina, Kansas. Originally known for creating durable workwear, particularly dungarees and jackets, Lee became a global leader in the lifestyle denim market. While the brand has deep American roots, its manufacturing is now distributed globally across multiple countries including Mexico, Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Pakistan to serve various international markets.
In 2019, Lee was spun off from VF Corporation into a separate publicly traded company called Kontoor Brands, Inc. This parent company, which also owns the Wrangler brand, is headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina. Lee remains a staple in casual fashion, balancing its heritage of high-quality craftsmanship with modern styles for men and women.
