Kodymagnyl DAK is a long-standing Danish medicinal brand used for the treatment of mild to moderate pain, such as headaches, toothaches, and menstrual pain. The formulation typically combines acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) with codeine and caffeine. It is one of the most recognized over-the-counter pain relief brands in Denmark.
The 'DAK' suffix stands for Danske Apotekeres Kontrollaboratorium, reflecting its historical roots within the Danish pharmaceutical system. For many decades, it was a staple product of Nycomed, a prominent European pharmaceutical company.
Following several corporate acquisitions, the brand entered the portfolio of the Japanese multinational Takeda Pharmaceutical Company. However, in recent years, Takeda divested a significant portion of its over-the-counter portfolio in Europe to Orifarm Group, a Danish pharmaceutical company headquartered in Odense. Today, Kodymagnyl DAK is owned and managed by Orifarm, returning the brand to Danish corporate ownership while continuing its legacy in the Nordic healthcare market.
