Henglein is a prominent German food brand known for its high-quality chilled dough and pasta products. Founded in 1936 by the Henglein family in Abenberg, Bavaria, the company originally began as a small business specializing in traditional German food staples. Over the decades, it evolved into a market leader by focusing on 'fresh-to-table' convenience items like potato dumplings (knödel), spaetzle, and puff pastry.
The brand's manufacturing is deeply rooted in Germany, with its main production facility located in Abenberg. To cater to the Central European market, particularly in Poland where the brand enjoys major popularity, it also operates a processing plant in Poland.
In early 2024, the brand underwent a significant ownership change. It was acquired by the Dutch-based group Cérélia, a global leader in chilled dough products. This acquisition aligned Henglein with an international portfolio, while maintaining its strong regional identity and German heritage under the umbrella of a specialized food conglomerate.
