Vademecum is a historic brand specializing in herbal-based oral care products, originally founded in Sweden in 1897. The brand is well-known for its 'Classic' concentrated mouthwash, which features a blend of natural extracts like sage, mint, and chamomile. Its packaging prominently displays the Swedish Royal Warrant (Kunglig Hovleverantör), signifying its legacy as a supplier to the Royal Court of Sweden.
Over its century-long history, the brand transitioned through several corporate owners, most notably becoming part of the German multinational Henkel. However, as part of Henkel's portfolio optimization strategies, Vademecum was acquired by the Frankfurt-based consumer goods group Henko Partners (now often operating under the LabOhr / Beauty Care Group umbrella) around 2021. Manufacturing for the European market is primarily centered in Slovenia, where many of the brand's traditional formulations continue to be produced.
