Milka is one of the world's most recognizable chocolate brands, easily identified by its signature lilac packaging and 'Alpenmilch' (Alpine milk) branding. The brand was originally created in Switzerland in 1901 by Philippe Suchard. Over more than a century, it has transitioned through various corporate ownerships, including being part of Suchard, Interfood, and later Jacobs Suchard.
Today, Milka is a flagship brand of Mondelēz International. While its origins are Swiss, the majority of Milka chocolate for the European market is now manufactured in Bludenz, Austria, though production also takes place in countries like Germany, Poland, and Belgium depending on the specific product line. The brand frequently collaborates with other Mondelēz properties, such as Oreo or Chips Ahoy!, to create hybrid confectionery products.
