Laticínios Porto Alegre is a prominent Brazilian dairy brand founded in 1991 in the city of Rio Doce, Minas Gerais. Originally starting as a small cheese producer, it has grown significantly to become one of the leaders in the dairy market in southeastern Brazil. The product shown is a 1-liter carton of UHT whole milk, widely distributed in supermarkets across Brazil.
In 2017, the Swiss dairy cooperative Emmi Group acquired a minority stake in the company, later increasing its ownership to a majority position of 70% in 2019. Despite this international investment, the brand maintains its headquarters and processing facilities in Brazil, specifically in the state of Minas Gerais, ensuring that the milk is sourced and produced locally within the Brazilian market.
