Founded in London by Jim Marshall in 1962, the brand revolutionized the music industry with its powerful guitar amplifiers, famously known as the 'Marshall stack.' For decades, it remained a family-owned venture, manufacturing its high-end flagship amplifiers in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, while expanding consumer electronics production to international facilities.

In a landmark shift for the music industry in 2023, the Marshall family sold the majority of the business to its long-time Swedish partner, Zound Industries. This merger formed the 'Marshall Group,' creating a unified powerhouse that manages both the heritage professional audio equipment and the modern range of consumer speakers and headphones. While the heart of 'Made in England' hand-wired amps remains in the UK, the global distribution and ownership are now managed from Sweden.
