Vitawund healing ointment

Vitawund is a well-known healing and antiseptic ointment widely used in Austria for treating minor wounds, abrasions, and skin irritations. The brand was originally established by the Austrian pharmaceutical company Sanabo. Over the years, through corporate acquisitions, the brand became part of the Novartis portfolio and was eventually integrated into Sandoz, the generic pharmaceuticals division of Novartis.

Starting in 2023, Sandoz completed its spin-off from Novartis to become a fully independent public company. While the brand has its roots in traditional Austrian pharmacy, it is now part of a global leader in generic and biosimilar medicines headquartered in Switzerland. Production predominantly remains in European facilities to serve its core markets in Central Europe.
