Boci is one of Hungary's most iconic chocolate brands, originally established in 1927 at the Szerencsi Chocolate Factory. Known for its signature cow logo, the brand has been a staple of Central European confectionery for nearly a century. After the fall of the socialist era in Hungary, the brand underwent a significant transition in ownership to modernize its production and distribution.

In 1991, the Swiss multinational Nestlé acquired the Szerencsi factory and the Boci brand. While the brand remains deeply rooted in Hungarian culture and marketing, the physical manufacturing was later moved to Nestlé's dedicated confectionery plant in Olomouc, Czech Republic. This shift was part of a broader regional strategy to centralize production for the Central and Eastern European markets while maintaining the specific recipes and branding that local consumers recognize.

Today, Boci continues to be owned and managed by Nestlé, which oversees its distribution across Hungary and neighboring regions. The brand remains a leading competitor in the chocolate bar segment, offering various flavors while emphasizing its historical connection to the original Szerencs factory traditions.
