Matutano is a historic Spanish snack brand that has become one of the most recognized names in the Iberian market. Originally founded in Barcelona in 1965 by Luis Matutano, the brand became synonymous with high-quality potato chips and savory snacks, most notably Munchitos, which are extremely popular in the Canary Islands and across mainland Spain.

In 1971, the company was acquired by the American multinational Frito-Lay, leading to its integration into the global PepsiCo family. While many global brands like Lay's and Doritos are marketed under the Matutano umbrella in Spain and Portugal, the brand maintains its local heritage and specific manufacturing facilities within Spain.
