Haldiram's is one of India's most iconic snack and confectionery brands, traceble back to its humble beginnings in 1937 in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Founded by Ganga Bishan Agarwal (popularly known as Haldiram), the brand first gained fame for its unique 'Bhujia'—a savory snack made from moth beans. Over the decades, what started as a small retail shop evolved into a massive empire of traditional Indian snacks, sweets, and ready-to-eat meals.
While the brand is synonymous with Indian culture, it has achieved global reach, exporting to over 80 countries. To meet international demand, production is primarily centered in India with massive facilities in Nagpur, New Delhi, and Kolkata, though local distribution and some packaging operations exist internationally to serve the diaspora and global markets.
The brand has historically been managed by three distinct family-owned entities: Haldiram Snacks (based in Delhi), Haldiram Foods (based in Nagpur), and Haldiram Bhujiawala (based in Kolkata). As of 2024 and heading into 2026, there has been significant structural evolution, including a major merger of the Delhi and Nagpur businesses to consolidate the company into 'Haldiram Foods International Private Limited' to streamline the brand under more unified corporate governance, while remaining under the ultimate ownership of the founding Agarwal family.
