Founded in 2005, Cremo began as a quest to create a superior shaving cream that eliminated the common irritations of wet shaving. The brand quickly gained a reputation for its high-performance 'Astonishingly Superior' formulas, eventually expanding from shave creams into a full line of men's grooming products, including barber-grade razors, beard care, and fragrances.
While the brand was born in California, its manufacturing footprint is global. The handles and cartridges for their razor systems are often produced in multiple locations, including carefully selected facilities in the United States, Greece, and Asia, to ensure precision engineering and competitive quality.
In 2020, Cremo was acquired by Edgewell Personal Care for $235 million. This acquisition placed the brand alongside other major shaving staples like Schick and Wilkinson Sword. Today, Cremo remains a premium pillar within the Edgewell portfolio, maintaining its distinct branding while leveraging the logistics and distribution scale of its parent company, which is headquartered in Shelton, Connecticut.
