Daim, originally known as Dajm, is a classic Scandinavian confectionery brand famous for its thin, crunchy butter almond caramel center coated in smooth milk chocolate. The brand was first launched in Sweden and Norway in 1953 by the Swedish company Marabou, which was inspired by the American Heath bar but sought to improve upon the recipe.
Today, the brand is owned by the global snacking giant Mondelez International. While the iconic almond caramel bars was originally developed in Sweden, the products are distributed worldwide. Manufacturing continues to have a strong base in Sweden at the Upplands Väsby factory, though production for various retail formats may occur at other Mondelez facilities globally to meet international demand.
