West Highland White Terrier (Westie)

The West Highland White Terrier, commonly known as the Westie, is one of the most popular and recognizable Scottish terrier breeds.

Originally developed in Scotland for hunting small game like foxes and badgers, the breed was famously stabilized by the Malcolm family at the Poltalloch estate during the 19th century. Westies are prized for their bright white coats, which were specifically bred so that hunters could easily distinguish them from their prey in the field.
