Ramlösa is one of Sweden’s most prestigious mineral water brands, tracing its history back to the establishment of the Ramlösa Hälsobrunn (health well) in 1707 by physician Johan Jacob Döbelius. The water is naturally filtered through layers of sandstone and clay in the Scania bedrock in southern Sweden, reaching its source over a period of 70 years. This natural filtration process gives the water its distinct mineral composition before it is bottled directly at the source in Helsingborg.
Throughout its history, Ramlösa has evolved from a spa destination water to a mass-market beverage. It was designated a purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden, cementing its status as a premium brand. While the bottling facility remains in its original home of Sweden to maintain its 'natural mineral water' status, the ownership has transitioned from independent Swedish hands to major international corporations.
Today, the brand is owned by the Danish beverage giant Carlsberg Group. Carlsberg acquired the brand as part of its broader beverage portfolio, ensuring that Ramlösa is distributed not only throughout Scandinavia but also to international markets. Despite the global reach of its parent company, the production and mineral extraction remain strictly local to the Ramlösa district in Sweden.
