Acqua di Giò is an iconic men's fragrance launched in 1996 by the Italian luxury fashion house Giorgio Armani. Inspired by the beauty of Pantellerie, where Armani spent his vacations, the scent was created to capture the essence of freedom, wind, and water.
While the brand Giorgio Armani remains a private Italian entity founded by the designer Giorgio Armani in Milan, the fragrance and beauty division (Armani Beauty) is managed under a long-term license agreement by the French beauty conglomerate L'Oréal. Most Armani fragrances are manufactured in France to maintain the high standards associated with luxury perfumery. This partnership allows the brand to leverage L'Oréal's global distribution network and extensive research and development in cosmetics while maintaining the creative vision and prestige of the Italian fashion house.
