Schlumberger Sparkling Brut

Schlumberger is Austria’s oldest producer of sparkling wine, founded in 1842 by Robert Alwin Schlumberger. The brand is renowned for introducing the 'Méthode Traditionnelle' (the traditional champagne method) to Austria. Each bottle is crafted using Austrian-grown grapes and undergoes a meticulous second fermentation in the bottle, followed by long maturation in historic cellars in Vienna.

Historically family-owned, the company has undergone ownership changes in recent decades. Since 2014, it has been majority-owned by the Sektkellerei J. Oppmann AG, which is part of the broader investments of the holding company controlled by South African businessman Frederik Paulsen. Today, Schlumberger remains a flagship brand for high-quality Austrian Sekt, maintaining its production and bottling traditions in Vienna and Bad Vöslau while reaching international markets as a symbol of Austrian viticulture.
