Keds sneaker

Keds is a historic American brand of footwear founded in 1916. Known for creating the first mass-marketed canvas-top sneakers, often referred to as 'sneakers' because their rubber soles allowed for silent walking.

Over its century-long history, the brand has transitioned through various corporate owners. Since early 2023, the brand has been owned by Designer Brands Inc. (DBI), the parent company of DSW. While the brand originated in the United States, current manufacturing is outsourced to various global locations, primarily in Asia, to serve international markets including Brazil.
