Discover where a brand or product originates
Dsquared2 is a high-end luxury fashion brand founded by Canadian twin brothers Dean and Dan Caten. The brand's origin is unique, as it was conceived by Canadian designers who moved to Italy in the early 1990s to pursue their fashion dreams. They launched their first men's collection in Milan in 1994, blending edgy Canadian iconography with refined Italian tailoring.
While the brand maintains its Canadian heritage through its logo and design motifs—often featuring the maple leaf—the heart of its manufacturing is situated in Italy. The brand is famous for its high-quality denim, leather goods, and bold streetwear. In terms of corporate structure, Dsquared2 operates through a long-standing licensing agreement with the Italian fashion group Only The Brave (OTB), which manages the production and distribution of many of its lines.
Today, Dsquared2 remains under the creative direction of the Caten brothers, but its global business operations are heavily integrated within the Italian luxury infrastructure. This synergy between North American creativity and European craftsmanship has established it as a powerhouse in the global fashion industry, headquartered in Milan.
