Energizer is one of the world's largest manufacturers of primary batteries and portable lighting products. The brand's history dates back to 1896 with the creation of the first consumer flashlight battery by the American Ever Ready Company. Today, Energizer is a globally recognized household name, particularly famous for its 'Energizer Bunny' mascot and long-lasting lithium coin cell batteries used in key fobs, watches, and medical devices.
The manufacturing process for Energizer batteries is distributed globally to meet regional demand. While significant production facilities are located in the United States (notably Asheboro, North Carolina), high-volume primary batteries and coin cells are frequently manufactured in China and Indonesia. Ownership has undergone several corporate shifts; originally a part of Union Carbide and later Eveready Battery Company, it became an independent entity in 2015 after spinning off from Edgewell Personal Care. It is now part of Energizer Holdings, Inc., a publicly-traded American corporation.
