Cylinda is a prominent Swedish brand with a deep historical connection to the Scandinavian home appliance market. The brand was originally created by the company Jung AB in the 1950s, famously known for developing the world’s first automatic washing machine. For decades, it was a household name in Sweden, known for durable and high-performing laundry and kitchen equipment.
Historically, Cylinda was part of the Asko group. However, in 2006, the brand was acquired by Elektroskandia Sverige, a major Swedish electrical wholesaler. Today, while the design and product planning are managed in Sweden to suit Northern European requirements, the manufacturing is outsourced to various European specialist facilities. The majority of Cylinda products are currently produced in countries like Poland, Italy, and Turkey in cooperation with leading OEM manufacturers.
The brand is currently owned by Elektroskandia Sverige AB, which is itself a subsidiary of the global French giant Sonepar. Sonepar is a world leader in the B-to-B distribution of electrical products and solutions, ensuring that Cylinda remains a stable and well-supported brand in the Swedish market through its extensive distribution network.
