Bis is one of Brazil's most iconic chocolate snacks, first launched in 1942 by the company Lacta. The product consists of multiple layers of crisp wafer coated in milk chocolate, sold in a tray format that encourages sharing. It is widely known for its advertising slogan that suggests one cannot eat just one.
While Lacta was originally a Brazilian company founded in São Paulo, it underwent several ownership changes over the decades. It was eventually acquired by Kraft Foods, which later spun off its global snacks business into Mondelēz International. Today, Bis is manufactured in Brazil, primarily at the Mondelēz plant in Curitiba, and remains a market leader in the chocolate wafer segment under the ultimate ownership of the American multinational Mondelēz.
