Madrid Lager is the flagship beer produced by Cervezas La Virgen, a brand that has become synonymous with the craft beer movement in the Spanish capital. Originally founded in 2011 by a group of entrepreneurs who sought to bring high-quality, craft brewing techniques to the local market, the beer is characterized as a Helles-style lager. It is traditionally brewed using six types of malt and three varieties of hops, undergoing a meticulous fermentation and maturation process that lasts over 60 days to ensure a balanced, refreshing profile.

The brand's identity is deeply rooted in Madrid's culture, with its primary production facility located in Las Rozas, Madrid. In 2017, the global beverage giant Anheuser-Busch InBev acquired the company, integrating it into its ZX Ventures portfolio to expand its reach while maintaining the local brewing spirit. However, the brand faced significant changes in early 2024 when its main brewery in Las Rozas was forced to cease operations due to zoning and licensing issues, leading to a restructuring of the business under the AB InBev umbrella.
