Panzani is a historic brand synonymous with high-quality pasta and grains. Founded in France in 1950 by Jean Panzani, who was of Italian descent, the brand successfully merged Italian culinary traditions with French production standards. It quickly became a household name in France and Western Europe, known for its iconic red and green branding.
Today, Panzani is a multi-national brand with a complex ownership history. While it was once part of the Danone group and later owned by the Spanish company Ebro Foods, the dry pasta and couscous business (Panzani SAS) was acquired by the private equity firm CVC Capital Partners in 2021. The production of its products, including this couscous, occurs in several locations across Europe and North Africa to ensure freshness and supply chain efficiency, though its corporate heart remains in Lyon, France.
