KVINT is a historic distillery located in Tiraspol, Moldova. The brand name is an acronym for the Russian phrase 'Kon'yaki, Vina i Napitki Tiraspola,' which translates to 'Cognacs, Wines and Beverages of Tiraspol.' Founded in 1897, the company originally specialized in vodka before shifting focus to aged spirits and wines. It is particularly famous for its high-quality 'Divin' (a regulated term for Moldovan brandy produced according to cognac methods).
The distillery is owned by the Sheriff holding company, a massive conglomerate in the Transnistria region. KVINT manages its own vineyards spanning hundreds of hectares to source its grapes, ensuring control over the entire production cycle from harvest to distillation and aging. The 6-year-old expression shown is a classic offering known for its balance of fruit and oak flavors, aged in accordance with local traditions.
