The brand was originally launched by Skruf Snus AB, a company founded in 2002 that quickly became a major challenger to the historical monopoly in the Swedish market. Since 2005, the brand has been under the ownership of Imperial Brands (formerly Imperial Tobacco), which acquired Skruf to expand its smokeless tobacco portfolio. Today, Knox is manufactured in Skruf's state-of-the-art production facility in Sävsjö, Sweden, ensuring adherence to traditional manufacturing standards.
