Daim is a classic Swedish chocolate bar known for its crunchy almond butter-crunch toffee center coated in smooth milk chocolate. It was originally created by the Swedish confectionery company Marabou in the early 1950s after the company received a list of ingredients for the American 'Heath' bar, leading them to create their own unique version.
The brand was launched in 1953 in Sweden and Norway, and it quickly became a staple of Scandinavian sweets. Over the decades, it gained international popularity and is now available in over 25 countries. Since its inception, the primary production site for Daim has been the Marabou factory located in Upplands Väsby, just north of Stockholm, Sweden.
Ownership of the brand transitioned from Marabou to the Norwegian company Freia in the 1960s, which was then acquired by the American food giant Kraft Foods (now known as Mondelez International) in 1993. Today, Daim remains one of the flagship brands under the Mondelez portfolio, maintaining its Swedish heritage while being distributed through a global network.
