Guy Laroche is a prestigious French luxury brand established in 1957 by the fashion designer of the same name. Initially gaining fame as a haute couture house in Paris, the brand became synonymous with classic French elegance and refined style. In 1966, the brand expanded into the fragrance market with the launch of the iconic scent Fidji, followed by Drakaar Noir in 1982, which became one of the most successful men's fragrances in history.
While the brand's haute couture roots are firmly planted in France, the manufacturing of Guy Laroche products is split between its fashion and beauty divisions. The fashion house continues to operate from Paris, maintaining high-end production standards. However, the beauty and fragrance line is managed under a long-term licensing agreement. These beauty products are primarily manufactured in France to maintain the brand’s luxury status, though global distribution and supply chains may involve auxiliary production and packaging sites in other regions.
Since 2001, the Guy Laroche fashion house has been owned by the Hong Kong-based group YGM Trading Ltd, which manages the global retail and apparel operations. Simultaneously, the brand's fragrance and beauty license is owned and operated by L'Oréal, the world's largest cosmetics company. Headquartered in Clichy, France, L'Oréal manages the research, development, and marketing of the brand’s global fragrance portfolio, ensuring that Guy Laroche remains a dominant name in the premium beauty sector.
