Sterling cigarettes

Sterling is a prominent British brand of cigarettes that has a long history in the United Kingdom's tobacco market. Originally a mid-range brand until the 1970s, it experienced a significant revival when it was re-launched in 2006. Since its return, it has become one of the most popular value brands in the UK, capturing a substantial share of the low-price tobacco sector.

The brand is currently owned and manufactured by the Gallaher Group, which is a major subsidiary of Japan Tobacco International (JTI). JTI acquired Gallaher in 2007, bringing Sterling under its global portfolio. While primarily sold in the United Kingdom, Sterling products are also distributed in several other international markets, including the Netherlands and Spain. In response to UK legislation, the brand has expanded its product line to include cigarillos and various cigarette formats like Superkings and Dual Capsule versions.
