GR-174 is a distinguished red wine produced by the Casa Gran del Siurana winery located in the prestigious Priorat region of Catalonia, Spain. The name of the wine is an homage to the GR-174 trail, a scenic long-distance path that winds through the mountainous Priorat landscape, symbolizing the connection between the land and its viticultural history.
The wine is crafted using traditional Mediterranean grape varieties such as Garnatxa (Grenache), Carinyena (Carignan), and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is produced locally at the estate's facilities in Bellmunt del Priorat, ensuring that the terroir-defined characteristics of the region’s unique slate soils (llicorella) are preserved.
Casa Gran del Siurana is part of the Perelada & Chivite group. This group represents one of Spain’s most significant family-owned wine dynasties, with a history in winemaking dating back several generations. The brand remains under the ultimate ownership of the Suqué Mateu family through their parent company, Grup Perelada, which maintains its headquarters in Barcelona, Spain.
