Sarson's is an iconic British brand with a heritage dating back to 1794. Originally founded by Thomas Sarson in Shoreditch, London, it has become the United Kingdom's leading brand of malt vinegar, famously associated with the traditional British dish of fish and chips. The company is known for its unique 'pear-shaped' glass bottles and its traditional brewing process, where the vinegar is matured in vats to develop its signature depth of flavour.

Throughout its long history, the brand has changed hands several times. It was historically part of British Vinegars Ltd before being acquired by Nestlé, and later by Premier Foods in 2002. In 2012, the brand was sold to the Japanese food company Mizkan Group as part of their expansion into the European condiment market. Today, Sarson's remains a staple in British households, with its primary production facilities located in Middleton, Greater Manchester, where it continues to be brewed and bottled sustainably.
