King Oscar is a heritage seafood brand with roots dating back to 1902 in Norway. Named after King Oscar II, who gave special royal permission to use his name and likeness, the brand is world-renowned for its premium brisling sardines. While the brand was founded in Stavanger, Norway, most modern production for the European market occurs in their state-of-the-art facility in Poland.

In 2014, the brand was acquired by Thai Union Group, a global leader in the seafood industry. This acquisition allowed King Oscar to expand its distribution while maintaining its traditional processing methods. Today, King Oscar remains a premium category leader in canned seafood, particularly in the United States and Northern Europe, under the umbrella of its Thai-based parent company.
