Kozy Shack began as a small business in 1967 when Vincent Gruppuso, a bread deliveryman, discovered a delicious rice pudding at a deli in Brooklyn, New York. He eventually purchased the recipe and the Kozy Shack name, turning it into a leading brand of refrigerated desserts in North America. The brand became famous for its simple, wholesome ingredients and kettle-cooked method.
In 2012, the brand reached a significant milestone when it was acquired by Land O'Lakes, Inc., one of America's largest member-owned cooperatives. Today, Kozy Shack remains a staple in the refrigerated dessert aisle, with major production facilities located in Turlock, California; Hicksville, New York; and Dublin, Ireland, to serve various global markets including Canada and Mexico.
