Duxianqin (Single-stringed zither)

The Duxianqin is a traditional Chinese plucked string instrument characterized by having only one string. It has a long history, particularly among the Jing people (an ethnic group in Guangxi, China) and is closely related to the Vietnamese đàn bầu. This specific instrument appears to be handcrafted, featuring a wooden resonator body and a bamboo or metal tension rod used to vary the pitch.

In contemporary times, these instruments are produced by specialized traditional instrument workshops in China, particularly in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
