Castell del Remei is an iconic winery located in the Costers del Segre DOP in Catalonia, Spain. The Gotim Bru is one of their most emblematic red wines, celebrated for its blend of traditional and international grape varieties. The winery itself dates back to 1780, though it was officially established as a modern cellar in 1895, making it the oldest winery in Catalonia focused on fine aged wines.
Manufacturing takes place entirely on the estate in Penelles, Lleida, where the grapes are grown, fermented, and bottled. The brand emphasizes the agricultural colony history of the estate, which was originally inspired by the Médoc region of France. Ownership today remains under Tomàs Cusiné, a prominent figure in the Spanish wine industry who acquired the estate to preserve its historic legacy while modernizing production standards.
