YETI Coolers and Drinkware

YETI was founded in 2006 by brothers Roy and Ryan Seiders, who were frustrated by the low quality of coolers available for their fishing and hunting trips. Based in Austin, Texas, the brand revolutionized the outdoor industry by creating high-end, rotomolded coolers designed to withstand extreme conditions and provide superior ice retention. This niche focus quickly expanded into a major lifestyle brand encompassing tumblers, mugs, bags, and various outdoor accessories.

While the company’s engineering and high-end limited production occur in the United States, particularly for select Tundra cooler models, the majority of their manufacturing process is distributed internationally. The soft coolers and stainless steel drinkware are largely produced in China and Vietnam, while larger rotomolded coolers are also manufactured in facilities located in Mexico and the United States. This global supply chain allows YETI to scale satisfy the massive demand for their products.

In 2018, YETI became a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. Today, it operates as an independent public entity controlled by its shareholders, with several private equity firms and institutional investors holding significant stakes. The brand remains headquartered in its city of origin, Austin, Texas, continuing to focus on durability and performance-driven design for outdoor enthusiasts worldwide.
