Buondi is an iconic Portuguese coffee brand founded in 1986 by Montalvia in the city of Porto. It quickly established itself as a premium choice for the "out-of-home" (HoReCa) sector before becoming a household favorite. The brand's identity is deeply rooted in the Portuguese coffee culture, emphasizing intensity and a cosmopolitan lifestyle.

In 1993, the brand was acquired by Nestlé, a global leader in the food and beverage industry. Since then, Buondi has benefit from Nestlé's global supply chain while maintaining its distinctive Portuguese roasting profile. The products are largely manufactured at Nestlé's factory in Porto (S. Mamede de Infesta), ensuring that its local heritage remains central to the production process. Ownership remains under Nestlé S.A., headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland.
