Peet's Coffee

Peet's Coffee is a pioneer of the specialty coffee movement in the United States. Founded in Berkeley, California, in 1966 by Alfred Peet, the brand is credited with introducing custom-roasting and high-quality beans to the American market, famously influencing the founders of Starbucks.

Today, the brand's manufacturing and roasting operations are largely centered in the United States, specifically at their LEED Gold-certified roasting facility in Alameda, California. However, as a global brand, their distribution and some ready-to-drink products may involve international supply chains.

Since 2012, Peet's Coffee has been under the ownership of JAB Holding Company, a private German conglomerate. In 2020, Peet's was merged into JDE Peet's, which oversees a vast portfolio of coffee and tea brands. JDE Peet's is headquartered in the Netherlands and manages the brand's global scaling while maintaining its California-based heritage and roasting standards.
