Riso Gallo Blond Basmati

Riso Gallo is one of Italy's oldest and most prestigious rice producers, founded in 1856 in Genoa. The company later moved its production to Robbio, in the heart of the Lomellina region, which is famous for its rice paddies. The 'Blond' line specifically refers to their parboiled rice products, designed to remain firm ('al dente') after cooking. While Basmati rice itself is grown in regions like India and Pakistan, Riso Gallo processes and packages this product in their Italian facilities.

The brand remains a family-owned enterprise, managed by the Preve family for six generations. Unlike many other major Italian food brands that have been acquired by multinational conglomerates, Riso Gallo has maintained its independence and identity as a symbol of Italian agricultural tradition and innovation in rice processing.
