Starbucks Caffè Verona is a dark roast coffee known for its roasty sweet and dark cocoa notes. Originally created in 1975 for a Seattle restaurant as '80/20 Blend', it was later renamed after the city of Verona, Italy. While the Starbucks brand originated in Seattle, Washington, USA, the consumer packaged goods (CPG) products like this coffee are managed under a Global Coffee Alliance.
Since 2018, Nestlé has held the perpetual rights to market Starbucks consumer and foodservice products globally (excluding Starbucks coffee shops). Consequently, these products are often manufactured in Nestlé's global production facilities, significantly in Switzerland for the European and international markets. The ownership of the brand remains with Starbucks Corporation, but the commercial distribution and manufacturing of the retail bags are handled by Nestlé.
