Bud, internationally known as Budweiser, is one of the most iconic beer brands in the world. Originally introduced in 1876 by Carl Conrad & Co. in St. Louis, Missouri, it was inspired by the brewing traditions of the town of Budweis in Bohemia. The brand became the flagship lager of Anheuser-Busch and gained fame for its beechwood aging process and crisp taste.

While its heart remains in the United States, Bud is produced in dozens of breweries across the globe to serve international markets efficiently. The brand underwent a significant ownership change in 2008 when Anheuser-Busch was acquired by the Belgian-Brazilian brewing giant InBev, forming Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev).

Today, AB InBev is the world's largest brewer, headquartered in Leuven, Belgium. The company manages a massive portfolio of hundreds of beer brands. In many European markets, including France, the brand is often marketed simply as 'Bud' due to long-standing trademark disputes over the 'Budweiser' name with the Czech brewery Budějovický Budvar.
