Hot Wheels is one of the most iconic toy brands in history, originally launched in 1968. The brand was created by Elliot Handler, a co-founder of Mattel, after he observed his son playing with Matchbox cars and decided to create a line of toy vehicles that looked 'souped-up' and performed better on track sets.
The product shown is a carrying case designed for die-cast car storage. While Hot Wheels die-cast cars have historically been manufactured in Malaysia, Thailand, and Hong Kong, the plastic storage accessories and licensed merchandise are primarily manufactured in China. The brand remains under the flagship ownership of Mattel, which manages Hot Wheels as one of its top-performing global franchises alongside Barbie.
