Bacel Margarine

Bacel is a well-known brand specializing in heart-healthy margarine and vegetable-based spreads. The brand was originally developed by Unilever in the Netherlands during the 1960s, specifically formulated to meet the demands of health-conscious consumers looking to manage cholesterol levels. Historically, it is known as Becel in most markets and Flora in others.

In 2018, Unilever sold its global spreads business to KKR, a private equity firm, resulting in the creation of Upfield. Today, Upfield is the ultimate owner and the world's largest plant-based consumer products company. Manufacturing takes place across various global facilities to serve local markets, maintaining a focus on plant-based ingredients and sustainable sourcing.
