Odil DICOM Library

Odil is a specialized software resource designed as a user-friendly C++11 and Python library for the DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) standard. It provides comprehensive functionality for medical imaging data, including reading and writing data sets, supporting standard JSON and XML representations, and implementing various DICOM network protocols and web services. It serves as a critical bridge for developers working on neuroimaging and clinical data processing.

The project originated within the French academic and research ecosystem, specifically developed by the ICube Laboratory. ICube is a multidisciplinary research institute involving the University of Strasbourg and the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS). The software is maintained as an open-source project under the CeCILL license, which is a French free software license adapted to both international and French legal frameworks, ensuring the tool remains accessible for scientific and medical advancement.
