Pall Mall is one of the world's most storied cigarette brands, introduced in 1899 by the Butler & Butler Company. It was originally marketed as a premium, high-class smoke, named after the famous Pall Mall street in London. The brand became a pioneer in the industry, introducing the 'King Size' (85mm) and Long (100mm) formats that eventually became global standards.
Today, the ownership and manufacturing of Pall Mall are split geographically due to historical antitrust rulings and corporate acquisitions. In the United States, Pall Mall is owned by R.J. Reynolds, a subsidiary of British American Tobacco (BAT). Internationally, the brand is owned and distributed directly by British American Tobacco. Because of BAT's vast global reach, the product is manufactured in numerous countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas to serve local markets.
